Although Dewayne Carter is due to turn himself in today for a 12 month bid at Rikers, it will not be the last time we hear from him this year. My man Weezy is constantly in the studio. Im sure, once he's rocking his orange jumpsuit we will be blasting some new heat from him. It will be interesting to NOT hear from him on other artists tracks for a while, because we all know, Wayne is the 'FEATURE KING.' Merely a chorus of his raspy but hypnotizing voice is enough to develop a TOP 40. At most times we may not know what he's saying but we love him nonetheless. Many have followed his career since his days as a Hot Boy, and others jumped on the wagon after Drought 3. Whenever you fell in love with Wayne, I think its fair to say, he is one of the best rappers alive. Not only has he made himself a star but he is responsible for the recent sensation of his crew Young Money, with members such as Drake, Jae Mills, Nicki Minaj and Tyga, Wayne will undoubtedly still have his influence in music while he is serving time. So its not goodbye, but we'll see you lata Weezy. Dont drop the soap. x0x0

Many of you may have been introduced to Kelly Cutrone on episodes of 'THE HILLS' or 'THE CITY' but Bravo has given her, her own reality show rightfully titled, 'Kell on Earth.' For those of you who are not aware, Kelly Cutrone is the head of Peoples Revolution: A Fashion PR firm. I love her work and her drive. She has worked hard for where she is , and is not amused by the abundance of 'fashion girls' that have attacked LA and NY in search for their big break. I was disappointed that Project Runway left Bravo, but I am delightfully pleased to get a weekly dose of 'Kell on Earth.' Im sure you will enjoy.

Honestly, I thought Usher was a wrap with the last album he put out. 'Confessions' was a certified smash.... but 'Here I Stand' was left there to stand on shelves of music stores across the country. But now Usher is coming back to the scene. Fresh out of a divorce, he hit us with 'Papers, ' telling the world how much a mistake it was to marry Tamika, and that he was so glad to be signing his papers. LOL :) Usher.... But his single 'Daddy's Home/Hey Daddy' is one of the best songs I have heard in a long time.

This song has a feel good vibe, seasoned with subtle sexual innuendos with a rhythm you can play in the club or in the bedroom. I cant wait to be in the club when this song comes on. Hey Daddy ;)

I also feel like the title 'Daddy's Home' is relevant to Usher's career. Letting his fans know,that, "Im back, I know you missed me"

With less than a week until Valentines Day, you have many left in limbo. Women are without valentines. Men often go off into hiding around these times in fear of commitment or spending a few dollars. Couples are pressured into spending hundreds of dollars to top last year's gifts. Children across America are forced to give Valentines to all of their classmates, despite their dislike for them. High schoolers are left out if they weren't popular enough to receive a carnation or rose from a classmate.

Why is it that you're either blissfully in love, or left extremely depressed on Valentines Day? Many times people lose sight of the real meaning of a holiday, and get caught up in the hoopla. Despite your relationship status, there is someone on this Earth that you love, and who loves you back. Whether it be your mom, your brother, your best friend, or your cousin, show them some love this Sunday.

More often than not, I hear both men and women complain about the opposite sex. The women say the men don't want to commit. The men say the women aren't "wifeable." Both sexes are lacking something they feel they need for that successful relationship. I feel its necessary for everyone to get back to the basics. For myself, I don't need the candy, the roses, or an expensive dinner. Just give me some time and acknowledge the fact that we both care about each other.

I feel a correlation to the state of music, ad society's views of love is appropriate. As I sit here watching VH1 Soul, I find it interesting that all the heartfelt R & B ballads are dated back to the 90's. Boys 2 Men, Jodeci, Blackstreet, Exscape, SWV....the list goes on, but that is the R &B that I remember. The feelings they sung about is something I long for. But today it seems the hardest to find.

I encourage everyone to love themselves first and Happy Valentines Day, if you dont hear it from anyone else.... x0x0

Usher is back. If he keeps on with production like this one. He will be back on the scene. 'Here I Stand' was the worst. Its often difficult for artists to top their major success. Some say thats why Lauryn Hill went crazy. who knows. Im feeling this song... reminiscent of the heartfelt emotions felt from 'Confessions.' He and his wife Tamika have split, so like any tru artist they express themselves through their craft. Usher is uber talented. I hope it all works out for him!!!! x0x0

The 'Run this Town' video will premiere today...But I couldn't wait any longer. Anyone who knows me, knows that I go so hard for Jay, he's my fave. . . Kanye is a genius as well. The words he couples together to murder a beat is like no other. His verse on this track along, places him at the top of my MC list. Rihanna has never been a favorite of mine, but shockingly enough, this video has made me like her a little bit. Finally she portrays a lil flava...'put some pep in her step' as some would say.

I think this video is creative. I haven't seen a video in a while that kept me intrigued until the ending. Seeing these three SUPERSTARS in the video got me hype. These three are like a little fam. Rihanna and her two big brothers. Who could ask for anything more... It's be hot if Beyonce would make a feature on the remix tho...lol.

Ever loved an an artist's music but were disappointed because they're album flopped.. and you never heard from them again? Ever watched an award show and said to yourself, " I love 'So n So' but WHY did she wear that? Ever gotten mad at the radio stations because they play the same song every 15 minutes when there is a plethora of better quality musical selections out there? Ever said to you self."I wish their PR or A&R team would get it together"?

Well..I definitely have...smh. As a music and fashion fiend. Often times I am highly disappointed at the individuals that call themselves professionals. In fact, I get quite angry. When you think of it, the 'regular' person's entertainment relies on the expertise of professionals such as PR reps, A&R executives, stylists, DJs, producers, and the artists themselves... They are supposed to know...what is hot...and what is not. Have they forgotten what they liked to listen to when driving to the club with their crew on a Saturday night? Have they forgotten the importance of individuality and innovation in an industry that is supposed to exude such? Clearly they have.

If it was up to me..there are several artists that I would love to give a career makeover to. . . First on the list

Via his twitter page last night, Bow Wow announced his signing to Young Money Records! WOW! Many people have mixed views about this collaboration...Pretty much, YOung Money is tryna take over the world... I blogged about this group before...I think they have a pretty good chance at becoming the next rap"crew". . . In my opinion they have many of the hottest artists out right now. . Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj..(who has not officially signed with Young Money, but reps them...)etc etc etc. It was rumored that Omarion had also joined the roster.... I am concerned tho, that they need to focus on the artists that they have, before they increase their team...I mean wheres Tyga Tyga? or whats the deal wit Nicki Minaj? When is Drake's album coming out? WHo knows...There's most likely a method to the Young Money Madness... and Im anxious to see!

But IM disappointed because this new season will air from LA. Undoubtedly NY is the fashion capital...but in order to accommodate the pregnant Heidi Klum who lives in La...the 6th season is based from that location :(... This is a new track from Beyonce, entitled Poison. . .Im def feelin this song right now. Alot of times we find ourselves in a relationship that is not good for us but we lack the strength to let go. Sometimes it takes for the person to hurt you so bad...to the point of no return for you to finally let them go... And even then, your not sure of what to do because you are torn. If they come crawling back begging for your forgiveness, or even if you simply have a discussion and settle your differences, you never want to feel that pain again..So are they to be trusted with your heart again??

You desire to have this person out of your life, but you check your phone multiple times though out the day...anxiously checking facebook, or any other form of communication to see if they've tried to contact you. The hardest thing to believe is that someone you thought who would never intentionally hurt you, would actually hurt you the worst.

Everything around you reminds you of them, a scent a song, a bar, a tv show.. everything is a reminder of the good times...but late at night you're reminded of the bad times because they are not there. At times its unbearable and you dont wanna be alone to let your mind wonder...you try everything to keep your mind off of it...you dont even wanna talk about it...

But guess what...life goes on. Its important to remember to never spend your time thinking about someone who doesn't deserve you. Take this time to better yourself and truly find out what is important for you. Im a strong believer in taking care of your dreams and passions and everything else will fall in place. Everything happens for a reason.. At times we dont know what those reasons are, but if a person cant accept you or love you the way you deserve... the relationship could never last...so let go..and ull be OK...in fact you'll be great! x0x0

Now my dearest Run of the MIll Chick( we'll call you ROTMC for short;) I know you find happiness with shopping at Forever 21 and Bakers. I know every guy you talk to either has a baby and wont claim you as his own. I kno you broadcast your sexuality over twitter and facebook in desperate hopes for a response from the opposite sex. Let me guess you hate Beyonce and everything that she stands for..In fact you walk around saying how u hate girls, when in fact you are intimidated by anyone you feel is prettier, smarter, or more fashionable than yourself. You are such an insecure female that you find any reason to not like another female that you've never even met. There's nothing really special about you, so of course you down others to make up for your lack of personality or physical appeal.

The thing that is most important for you to remember ROTMC is that, everything is not for everyone. I dont judge you for choosing to shop at Charlotte Rousse, its cheap, and if thats what you like. good for you. But dont hate me because I aspire for the finer things in life. Yes I am a girly girl.I paint my nails hot pink, I have about 25 different lip glosses in rotation right now. I keep my feet , eyebrows and hair done , and am able to converse with the most whit an humor you've probably ever seen. ROTMC I hate when you try to down other females only because you are not them. Its not their fault. You could step your game up if you wanted. I would even help you.

Its always the regular, ROTMCs that complain about another female's look, demeanor, fashion choices or whatever...the so called"dimes", "bad chicks" better known as real women could care less what you do, what you have to say, or where you shop. So why are you so obsessed with us??

The problem with you ROTMC is that you settle. You settle for everything lack luster...(1.lacking brilliance or radiance; dull 2. lacking liveliness, vitality, spirit, or enthusiasm: a lackluster performance.)

When you walk into a room, no one notices. You don't demand respect from the male species, so they don't treat you with any.
What you have to realize ROTMC is that, there is NOTHING wrong with aspirations, and wanting a better life. Never hate someone because they choose to carry a Gucci bag instead of the Forever 21 knock off. Never roll your eyes at a girl because she orders a Moscato instead of a blue motorcycle at the bar. Feel free to pick up a book instead of staying on facebook for hours..It is up to you ROTMC to escape the regularity of your life.

We are all entitled to our freedom of expression. It frustrates me when you ROTMC's get so upset when beautiful women are just doing them. If a female chooses to wear heels everyday that is her prerogative. If you choose to wear air force ones for the rest of your life... that too is your prerogative. Why care so much??

As the fall season is approaching..I get more n more excited! I do love Spring cuz thats my bday season..But Fall is full of such invigorating fashion choices. U can layer up, wear boots, and leather jackets!! ohh the possibilities!!! Since Im in a cew city, I feel the need to once again revamp my wardrobe...In looking for inspiration..I turn to no other magazine than Elle... I kno Vogue is supposed to be the number one fashion reference, but i think its some what cliche...I jus clique wit Elle.Elle is me! lol. Tuesday is Album dropping day, and today Fabolous (I always spell out his name when I write it lol) dropped his 'Loso's Way' album. Ive been following the dude on twitter and I loved reading about his preparation for the new album release, drama within the industry due to album leakage, and his travels through out the country for PR events. When I read this story on concreteloop.com I couldnt believe it... From Kindergarten to 12th grade I was in a program called M.E.T.C.O. that bussed "inner city" youth to suburban schools, to further the integration of the majority white school systems in the surrounding towns of Boston, Ma. That program has been around since the 70's and to imagine that in Mississippi as of 2008, whites and blacks were still not partying together at prom is absurd.. To even hear that Morgan Freeman had offerred to sponsor this prom back in 1997, and his offer was denied... but in 2008 they finally accepted.. HBO did a documentary on the towns preparations for this prom that aired last night. Hopefully it will be available on ON DEMAND or they will air it again so that more can see. SMH>

As a marketing major, I understand the many aspects of appealing to the public and different PR schemes..Not saying Chris Brown's apology was a scheme... I just know that ther were many motives behind his apology. I wont judge the dude cuz no one knows what went on between him and Rihanna that night, and he was prolly provoked and regrets his actions...I know when I used to get in trouble and aplogize to my motha, she would say, "youre not sorry, your just sorry you got caught..." Which sadly was true. We may regret what we do in certain situations, but at the time we know what we were doing was was wrong, but choose to do it anyway. We are all in control of our actions and are pretty much aware of what the consequences may bring. Anyways..I think its a bright idea for Chirs to put out a public apology because Im sure he does not want his career to end. And from the people Ive talked to, many can care less what he's done, and would have loved to see him perform at the 2009 Bet Awards... With celebs, Its weird they can do almost anything, have sex with under age girls, beat on women, or whateva else and well still love them. We are all human and if a public eye could get a glimpse of what our personal lives looked like I wonder what they would think of us.... LOl. Anywo the boy is talented and Im sure he will continue on his road to stardom...

I hate trends...I think they are dumb. In a world where fashion must haves change every two secs. It angers me how people opt out of being original, and just jump to the next hot thing out. Trends in fashion are sooo annoying. Everything is not for EVERYBODY. I REPEAT...EVERYTHING IS NOT FOR EVERYBODY... WE must love oursleves enough to know that we must execute the best look for ourselves as an individual. I chose to write about this because in looking though various celeb blogs and twitter pages...every broad wants to shave her head

or wearing the same look as the next chick. As an aspiring stylist myself, I understand that with each season, there are several must haves that every male and female should have in their closet. But where are the stylists with individuality...who eat and breath innovativeness??? I would never have my client walking around as a clone of everyone else. People are no longer stylish just trendy... I wish we can bring back the days of classic style.. ever take a look at the fashion icons back in the day, like Jackie O. Always fly...classic. not trendy.

I have nothing against short hairstyles. But they are not for everyone. Especially if you already have a very manly figure *cough *cough ciara......

The 2009 BET awards aired last night. Many viewers were dissapointed of the result. I for one was so hype cuz I thought the perfomances were gonna be 'Off the Wall' (pun intended) to tribute to Michael, but I was a lil dissapointed of the outcome. In BET's defense, they only began delivering award shows a couple of years ago, and had very little time to prepare after MJ's passing...

Anywho. My girl Bey performed last night, and contrary to the majority of other viewers. I loved it. I think its unfortunate that artists aren't free to express themselves in any way THEY see fit. SO WHAT she didnt get on stage and do the expected 'Single Ladies', 'Diva' or 'Ego'... she displayed her love for culture and different genres of music, which is what artistry is all about.. . My girl can sing, and tear any stage apart..She can do whateva she wants and still b the Queen. Ciara cant even sing... and Keri cant dance and sing with out losing her breath...so heres sum clips of Bey shuttin errbody up! ThanX. X0X0.

On June 25th, the world lost one of the most infuential persons that I have seen in my lifetime. As you all know, MJ the Great died at age 50. Far too soon. Although he went through his share of turmoil under the close eye of paparazzi, I believe none of us were prepared to see him go. As I write this post, I listen to "Remember the Time" one of my faaaavooorite MJ tracks and videos!!! For every one of his songs his voice was the perfect match. I never got the chance to see hiim live, and thats one thing Im dissapointed about... I can't even express the impact that this man has had on the record industry. It saddens me that my children will never get to witness a talent like his again. I can play his songs and show them videos, but it will never be the same.

This man lived and breathed to perform and entertain. His personal life was always questioned, and in his last days, he served as a ongoing joke to many. I can understand their confusion, dislike, or misunderstanding of the man...but I can not tolerate the lack of respect for his talent. Believe it or not, MJ has changed our world. We live in a society where the music and pop culture is what pretty much sums up America. The way we cling to our celebrities, and act is if we know them, desiring to know every piece of their lives, is what often leads to their demise. WE criticize stars for acting out or not being normal...but no one can live a normal life while everyone is watching. So say what you will about the specualtions against him, but please dont ever doubt the talent. Cuz in no way, can you hear a MJ song and not wanna dance. All the artists that you are listening to right now, will not have even dreamt the dream of a music career, if it had not been for Michael.>>

Life is crazy... When my day is just not going so great. I realize I havent spent sum time alone to jus jam to my fav songs. "Do wholesome good girls, give it up on the first date?" This really had me thinking. Is a girl even considered a good wholesome girl if she is having sex on the first date?? It is also fair to say that one shud not judge, because Im sure we have all been in situations where we were a bit naughty. I think the double standard of the female and male sexual liberty is unfair. As a female, if Im feelin a dude and would like to take it there...even on the first date, theres sumthyn wrong wit that..I can no longer be considered wholesome! dayum. But dudes do it all the time. In fact they look forward to meeting a girl and sleeping with her...at times that is their only objective. Its like if you don't sleeop with him, he feels the need to move on...but if you do..than your not his vision of wholesome and he doesnt want a girl thats easy so..bye bye once again. A lose lose situation nonetheless! You can never win by playing someone elses rules. And there is always an exception to the rule.lol.I think its fair to say that there aren't any rules to this dating scenario in life. Each person is an individual with their own baggage and way of thinking. One must stay true to themselves and really follow their gut as to how they shud live their lives. If you have morals, stay true to them, and never settle for less. If you are sexually free. Go head with that but be safe!

Summer has barely kicked off, but it is that time to think about ur fall wardobe. No worries though, alot of last fall's must haves will be recycled into this years. All in all, a tru stylista does her own thang, reardless of whats hot...people may not like what ur wearin at the moment, but trust they will be rockin it 2years later. TRUST. Happens to me all the time. Anywho, be urself ALWAYS, and everything and everyone will follow suit :)

Some of my favorite fall items include Booties!
I seee booty I see booty. can't get enough. Paired with skinnies or leggings, u pretty much can't fail! My favorite though is the pairing of a bootie with a mini dress or skirt!!

***of course once the weather gets cold. Throwing on a leather cropped jacket and a pair of patterned stockings will complete the look!****

Next up on my list is jewels...and lost of em! Accessories make any outfit pop. This fall season. Expect to see lost of darker stones and metals in the form of hemmatite! This will add to any look that u wanna make more rocker chic! Ya feel me? Bold jewelry is a must.

I think it was the 2009 BET Hip Hop awards, that listed the nominees in the best female hip hop category as: Lil Mama (eeek), Trina (huh?)and M.I.A. (wow)... It was very disturbing to witness smh.

But along came a Harajuku barbie by the name of Nicki Minaj...

Not only can she spit, but her flow is crazy and cute. Her rhymes are full of comedy, sex, money, haters that motivate, and that non stop grind. In the beginning of her most current mixtape, "Beam Me up Scotty" she speaks on her neverending hustle to make it to the top. She says, "In the end its not gonna be about my talent, its not gonna be about my connections, its not gonna be about my looks. Its gonna be about who wants it the most, and I want it the most." I feel like thats the realest statement that I've heard in a long time. We've seen many Female Mc's come and go with the weather and fashion trends. I dont know why female Mcs's dont have the same longevity as the males...Maybe because they dont get enough support from their labels, mayb they let others run their careers from their looks to their rhymes, or mayb their just not hot! Who knows.

What I can say is that I hope this chick sticks around for a while. I love when I feel like an artist has read my mind, before they place a pen to their notebook, or step into the studio. Shes speaks for all us bad B*tches out there, and I digg. We all wanna ride in our Vee( vehicle) blastin our music feeelin hellah cute and bad as hell. And Nicki provides that!

In Hong Kong boo. Now Ive always said I must visit Tokyo before I depart from earth. So I must also make my way down SNEAKER STREET! I was having a convo wit one of my peeps, and i had to see for myself about this sneaker street. Sneaker street is one of Hong Kong's most famous cultural attractions. I've been watching so many Sex and the City dvds that Ive jus felt so inspired by Carrie and her column, and decided to do sum writtin of my own...it is very threrapeutic.

I dont think Im wrong to assume that every woman wants a super hero. Maybe the correct term would be a Super Man...but hes a lil over-rated for my taste. I love to go for the unsung, or forgotten heroes. My super hero of choice is Spider man. He may not be forgotten, but sometimes I dont think he gets enough credit. Mayb for the type of girl that I am, Im just not attracted to the SUPERMAN type. I like the low key, chillin at the crib, mayb play a lil ball, smoke a lil blunt...have a deep conversation after type dudes. . . Mild mannered but when its time to scrap, its time to scrap. He has his close friends, but he may prefer to ride dolo. He's all about that financial grind, but doesn't fall victim to the intoxicating addiction to fast money, cars, and the freshest gear. He's fly indeed, but his intellectual level is far more deep.
Thats y im feelin Spidy. He doesn't need to broadcast the "S" on his chest. Hes aware that with, "great power, comes great responsibility." He doesnt need a bat mobile, or a cape...but he can climb walls, and fly across buildings on his own. He was able to design his own get -up, and he has no intense super powers...only his strength. Even though he may not get the girl in the beginning, he will make sure that he would always be there for her, no matter the situation.

And thats my point. Through everything that Peter Parker had to offer as a man or a super hero, his most valued asset was his heart. To me, the most a man could give me is his heart. To kno that no matter where we are in life,what situations we may go through, or even people we become involved with...I will always be his, and he mine. If I needed him, he will come, and if I called he would answer. To have someone out there in this crule cold world that has your best interest in my mind, and genuinely cares for your well being is the most you could ever ask for. HE would be my super hero...

I wrote this last week, I thought it was funny...enjoy!

Right now I feel like the Fresh Prince during that classic episode when he and his gf(Gina) was locked in the basement. Except my basement is the Science and Technology building during an Econ class. There are no windows and its hot as hell. I'm not sittin on a tricycle but this wooden desk. And the girl gettin on my nerves is this chick who keeps gawkin me like I can't see her and sittin here with her mouth open, stankin up the classroom with her hot breath! Good lawd Ima b sick, I'm hungry hot and can hardly breathe cuz her breath smells sooo bad like doo doo! There's a broke fan in the corner on low blowing hot stank air, and Prof Sarki won't open the doors because people always come for roll call and bounce. So here I am suffering. There's about 50 black people in this room right now giving off hella heat. All I can think about is 145 pm when this class is ova and I can get the hell outta this hell hole. Sarki up front talkin bout average variable cost as I'm typing away on my black berry... I wonder if he knows I'm not paying attention. The notes he is going over are all available on blackboard... So why the hell must I suffer thru this class??!! Jus so I can keep my lil attendance points and pass this class whole heartedly. Its not like he offers any extra explanation of the material... The class can hardly understand what he says, and he doesn't understand what we says either lol @ language barriers! Everyone sittin here frantically fanning themselves with self made paper fans occassionally dozing off. This is so pointless, a waste of time money and energy. If our parents only knew what they were paying for, or better yet those of us who have loans... What we have to pay back!! I bet the students at Harvard are not suffocating to death in a stank hot classroom wit a teacher that can not speak english...not to not knock sarki he's semi cool... Its not his fault he has a very thick african accent that the majority of us can not understand... Its jus the combination of all the factors that I've previously explained can be a lil distracting when ur supposed to learn about a short run loss.I know one thing if this girl don't stop lookin me up and down I will politely look her in the face to say what the hell r u lookin at me for, the notes are on the overhead wit ya stank breath!! I first read this book in highschool... and I jus got the urge to read it again. . .

Set in the projects of Brooklyn, New York, The Coldest Winter Ever is the story of Winter Santiaga (aptly named because she was born during one of New York's worst snowstorms), the rebellious, pampered teenage daughter of a notorious drug dealer. Ricky Santiaga, Winter's father, has attained substantial wealth through his drug empire and lavishes his wife, Winter, and Winter's three younger sisters, Porsche, Lexus, and Mercedes, with the best things money can (and cannot) buy. Unknown to her father, Winter has picked up on all of his hustling tricks and does whatever is necessary to get what she wants. Winter's world is turned upside down, however, on her 16th birthday, when her father suddenly decides to relocate his family and his growing business to Long Island, but she is determined not to sever ties with the old neighborhood.

I wont give away the plot if theres anyone out there who hasnt read this book(loser!! j/k)... BUT

I read it in like two dayz literally. I couldnt put it down. I was one of those girls who wanted the fast life. I thought being the girlfriend of the drug dealer, sportin the latest coach, gucci, or 4"inch knee boots was the way to live. Riding around in gold BBS's, leather seats... Having random beef with both dudes and chicks...That whole life intrigued me. SO when I read this book I was in love. I could relate to Winter, but I also thought she was dumb. . . spending her last dough on a Couch bag( those were hot back in the day fyi...remember) when she was on the run and ish. . . There were rumors that a movie was in production and that Jada Pinkett would play Winter, mayb at the time that was realisitic... Even though Jada looks good for her age age, that right there would have to qualify as a dream deferred. If I was to cast for the movie present day... I would ban Megan Good from auditioning all together LOL. For Winter, I would prolly cast Keshia-Knight Pulliam (Rudy), or maybe even Naturi from 3LW. For Midnight. . . It wud have to be an up and comming actor , because I cant think of anyone who captures his persona right now. I have to have Idris Elba in here sumwhere...he cud prolly play her father, Ricky Santiaga. And Bodie from the Wire gotta be in here sumwhere too. LOL.

I havent read MIDNIGHT yet, but I plan too soon like today, so I'll let u know how I feel about it. But Its a prequel to THE COLDEST WINTER EVER, and gives the reader a better understanding of who Midnight was and where he came from!

I think I can be very critical when a new group or solo artist comes out. I feel that by my first impression of them, I can tell whether or not they will make it, or be a ONE HIT WONDER. As for THE DREAM's new group, Electrik Red...I give them a green light. I feel as though this group has the potential to be the next Danity Kane lol. Mayb a lil better...Mayb. I wasn't feelin them at first, because image is everything in the music business, and their appearance in Dream's "Rockin that Thang" video was a lil dissapointing. Either they had a stylist, or the stylist should have been shot because they looked like they just finished a shoppping spree at Charlotte Rousse and Wet Seal. Yuck! Buuuttt to my astonishment their newest video,"So Good" is very GOOD! :)production of course, by the DREAM and Tricky Stewart... I first heard this song driving to work,I was about to pop in a CD and take a break from the radio because I was tired of listening to the same rotation over and over....but once this song started I couldn't stop listening. i can relate to this song on so many levels, hence my immediate memorization of some of the lyrics! I saw the video for the first time yesterday and I love everything... They clearly got a stylist, and a creative director with some flare for the darling theme of the video. The color choice is fit for spring as well as heavy play on 106 & Park... I give it a B+!

Disney has begun production of a new animated film called The Princess and the Frog starring Maddy or Tiana.They are having issues choosing a name becuase some feel that Maddy is a lil too close to "Mammy". Maddy to me is jus a wack name. Y not give her something exotic...like Alisha lol! Maddy/Tiana is a black girl living out of the French quarter of Louisiana(plot unknown...) Disney chief, Robert Iger, said the company wanted to show their support of New Orleans after the tragic occurence of Hurricane Katrina... blah blah blah...IDK this sounds all nice and sweet... But Disney found time to draw up Jasmine(aladdin) Mulan,and Poccahantas...before Dear ol' Maddy/Tiana. Let's not forget that we as Blacks came from Kings and Queens, and was on this whole princess shhh, way before Disney decided to finally throw us a bone, and draw up Maddy/Tiana, who is a frog princess lOL> please!Good intentions...yes, a lil late... yup yup!

The first step to recovery is to accept your addiction. I know I have a problem and it has taken a movie for me to accept my true colors. Yesterday I saw Confessiions of a Shopaholic (costume design by Patricia Fields, my idol..previous blog entry)I was hesitant at first because a review gave the move a D-,so I put aside any hopes of viewing a quality film, and committed to just viewing the costume choices. To my suprise, the movie was madd good. There was humor, slight drama, and the characters had exceptional wardrobes...of course! I was able to relate to the character of Rebecca. We shared a common love for boutiques,window displays, and the almost orgasmic rush of swiping! There was a scene where she was at a Shopaholics anonymous meeting and she shared a very emotional anecdote of why she loved shopping, to which I felt her every word! I love shopping for anything. . . I love window shopping...and unlike most, EVEN if Im broke I'll still go with someone to the mall and help them shop! I have gotten so much better, I only buy things I LOVE! But I seem to always come across things I LOVE. . . But I give myself an A for effort! The movie was fun to watch cuz we shared several common items... like the white gucci bag she carried, or her mac book with the pink cover... overall I give the movie a B+!

Today I was like, "damn I need to update my blog... My macbook is broken so I havent been able to blog as often...and am confined to using these bootlegg computers in the Buckman lab of the illustrious Hampton University( being sarcastic)...But today I didnt know what to blog about. . . I cud always post my most recent fashion finds but I felt like writting about something different. But as I log into facebook, and am bombarded with status updates. I read one from that of Rob Rich, who always ends his status about the MIGHTYORACLE page on youtube. Ive been meaning to take a look, cuz im familiar wit their moves, and am always entertained. So I clink on the link and the first video I saw was the Bust the windows part one. Now. . . The computers in the lab, dont even have sound... so Im just looking at the choreography... I dont even finish watching the entire video before I log back onto facebook to comment on one of Rob Rich's statuses to tell him how dope this ish was and Im about to blog about it... THEN I instant message FRE$H to tell him that Im so proud of them , and can't wait till people recognize their talent foreal. So Imma do my lil part and post sum of these videos . . . This past weekend I was in DC for a party, but I made my way to the National Museum of African Art. I had heard about it , but never had a chance to go. This time around I was fortunate enough to attend. I've always been a fan of museums, art, exhibitions and such, but I was really impressed. WHile there I was introduced to to African artists by the names of Aime Mpane and Antonion Ole. Their artwork was shown in the same room and I immediately became a fan of both. My favorite from Aime is the naked matchstick man---- made from matchsticks. DOPE! Antonio won me over with his town hall themed piece. Both men are truly talented geniuses. . . Heres some of their work!

So Im super duper hype about this release.The new film stars Audrey Tautou in an upcoming movie on Coco Chanel called "Coco Avant Chanel" (due out May 2009 in France). Karl Lagerfeld did the costumes! The film wil release in france and hopefully make its way to the US. Ugh . I can't wait. The director Anne Fontaine will cover CoCO's life before she was famous from learning how to sew in an orphanage as a child, to making costumes for herself as a cabaret singer, as well as other singers as a young woman!
